"Chick Pea A-La King"


 

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. raw cashew nuts
  • 2 T. Tahini opt.
  • 1 1/2 t. onion powder
  • 1 1/2 t. salt
  • 1 T. vegetarian chicken style seasoning
  • 2 T. yeast flakes
  • 1/2 t. garlic powder
  • 1 t. basil
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 med. onion, diced
  • 1/2 c. diced red pepper
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 1/2 c. cooked garbanzo beans
  • 1 c. frozen peas

Steps

  • Place cashews in blender with 2 cups of the water . Add flour and seasonings and blend for about 2 minutes till smooth.
  • Simmer onion and peppers in a small amount of water for about 5 minutes.
  • Add blended cashew mixture along with the remaining 2 cups of water. Stir while brining to a boil.
  • Add garbanzo, pepper and onion mixture along with peas. Heat through and serve over brown rice.
