"Melted Cheese-Like Sauce"


 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • ¼ cup clean, raw cashews
  • 2 oz. jar pimientos, sliced or diced
  • 3 Tbs. nutritional yeast flakes
  • 2 Tbs. cornstarch or arrowroot
  • 1 Tb. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. onion flakes or powder
  • ¼ tsp. garlic powder

Steps

  • Blend cashews in about ½ cup of the water until
  • very smooth. Add remaining water and other
  • ingredients and continue blending until smooth.
  • Simmer in a heavy sauce pan until thickened,
  • stirring constantly 5-6 minutes.

Yields 2 ½ cups or 10 servings
