"Rotis [Indian]"


 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour and 1 cup unbleached white flour
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • Water as needed to get the dough medium soft.

Steps

  • Divide into equal portions, making balls about 1 inch.
  • Apply wheat flour to each ball and roll into thin diskettes about 5 inches round.
  • Cook on griddle for ½ minute and flip over. If you have a gas stove, put on open flame and turn a couple of times until it puffs up.
  • If you have an electric stove, keep rotis in your pan and press down on it with a crumpled up paper towel and it will puff up also.
  • It is done at this point.
